A Unique and Evidence-Based Approach
The Gupta Program is currently the only brain retraining method to be evaluated in multiple independent randomized controlled trials. These early studies, including published research on Long Covid, ME/CFS, and Fibromyalgia, suggest that neuroplasticity-based approaches can lead to statistically and clinically significant improvements in symptoms and quality of life.
Timeline of Published Research Studies
Gupta Program significantly more effective than standard medication in improving symptoms of fibromyalgia
In an independent randomized controlled trial on Fibromyalgia patients, the Gupta Program was compared to a control. After 12 weeks, the Gupta Program group significantly improved across a range of measures compared to the control, with large to very large effect sizes.
AIR participants showed significant improvements compared to a control taking Pregablin:

63%reduction(15% in control)Pain
50%reduction(8% in control)Depression
49%reduction(8% in control)Cognitive Function
16%improvement(4% in control)
Gupta Program significantly improves sleep, depressive symptoms, cognitive decline, and improves working memory in older adults
In an independent randomized controlled trial, the Gupta Program plus exercise was compared to a control. After 12 weeks, the Gupta Program group significantly improved compared to the control, with large to very large effect sizes.
AIR participants plus exercise showed significant improvement across 4 different measures:
Depressive Symptoms

Gupta Program Increases Health & Functioning for 14 Different Chronic Conditions
An international audit conducted by an independent research firm evaluated the impact of the Gupta Program on a wide range of chronic conditions. After more than three months of consistent use, participants reported:
-
Significant improvements in overall health and functioning across 14 out of 16 conditions assessed
-
Meaningful positive trends approaching significance for the remaining two conditions

Gupta Program Reduces Long COVID Fatigue
A 3-month randomised controlled trial evaluating the Gupta Program in individuals with Long COVID demonstrated significant clinical improvements. Participants following the Gupta Program experienced:
-
A substantial reduction in fatigue
-
Significantly increased energy levels
-
Greater improvement compared to a structurally similar wellness program
These benefits suggest that the Gupta Program may offer enhanced outcomes beyond standard lifestyle-based interventions, providing a uniquely effective approach for those navigating post-viral fatigue syndromes.

Gupta Program Reduces Fibromyalgia Symptoms in just 8 weeks
In an 8-week randomised controlled trial involving individuals with Fibromyalgia, the Gupta Program led to significant reductions in symptom severity and improvements in overall health. These outcomes were substantially greater than those achieved by participants following a structurally similar wellness program.
-
Notable decrease in symptom severity
-
Outcomes that surpassed those typically seen with standard wellness approaches

Gupta Program Increases Health & Energy for ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Patients
A 3-month randomised controlled trial assessed the Gupta Program’s impact on individuals with ME/CFS or Fibromyalgia. The results showed marked improvements in physical health and energy, alongside significant reductions in pain, fatigue, and overall symptom distress. These changes were far more substantial than those seen in participants receiving standard medical care.
-
Noticeable gains in energy, pain levels, and day-to-day functioning
-
Clinically significant reductions in fatigue, pain, and symptom-related distress
-
Progress well beyond what is typically observed with standard care alone

Gupta Program Improves Health & Functioning for ME/CFS Patients
A clinical audit of individuals with ME/CFS provided early support for the Gupta Program’s foundational approach. The results were striking: virtually all participants reported noticeable improvements in their health and wellbeing.
-
Widespread symptom improvement across participants
-
Two-thirds reported reaching 80–100% functional recovery

Foundational Hypothesis for the Gupta Program
After years of living with ME/CFS and deeply researching its mechanisms, Ashok Gupta developed the foundation for what would become the Gupta Program—and used it to support his own recovery. While the program has evolved and expanded over the past two decades, its core hypothesis has remained largely unchanged.
This foundational understanding continues to guide the program today. For many participants, it offers not only clarity on the nature of their condition, but also a hopeful and empowering path forward.
