There are 3 main elements to getting better!

And we use the analogy of a flying dove. Now how does a dove fly? Well it needs two strong wings, and it needs to fly in a direction. In the same way there are 3 important things we can help us fly!

We call them the 3 R’s of Recovery: Retraining, Relaxing the Nervous System, and Re-Engaging with Joy:

All of the tools and techniques fit into one of these categories.

So, we are obviously retraining our brain.

And to balance that out, to make the dove fly, we can learn how to keep our nervous system calm through relaxing the nervous system, using physical, mental and emotional tools.

And finally, that dove needs a direction to fly. So Re-engaging with Joy is all about channelling our energy to something that uplifts us and gives us energy.

The main 3 R’s lead to the fourth R which is Resilience. More about that further into the Program.
