Shonna is a passionate advocate of the Gupta Brain Retraining Program, after using it to fully reclaim her health and life in 2014. She was then inspired to take the comprehensive Gupta Coach Certification Program, to thoroughly support others in their recovery process.

Prior to her recovery she was diagnosed with labels such as ME/CFS, POTS, MCS, mold sensitivity, Lyme, food sensitivities, anxiety, and others. She spent many years searching for solutions and implementing countless regimens, prior to the success with the Gupta Program.

Shonna has a health science background, and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1993. She is a Heart Math Trainer and Coach with The HeartMath Institute, a Neurolinguistic Programing Coach, and is in the 3 year Somatic Experience Practitioner training with Dr. Peter Levine.

Shonna has become specialized in coaching people recovering from Long Covid since 2021. She coached the participants in the first published Long Covid study on the effectiveness of the Gupta Program.

Shonna is constantly learning about brain neuroplasticity and neurobiology, to support health and vitality. She draws inspiration from neuroscience specialists, including Dr. Carolyn Leaf who is a Christian neuroscientist, Dr. Jules Shore, an educator of interpersonal neurobiology, Dr. Claire Zammit, and many  others.

In her own healing journey, having a compassionate and encouraging coach who had experienced a similar journey made all the difference in her recovery! Now she is honored to be a supportive mentor in the journey of transformation for others. She works to create a safe environment to help cultivate growth and support healing. In this process, people can also discover authentic self-worth and happiness.

Shonna lives in the Canadian Rockies, and enjoys several mountain sports and activities with her family and friends. She volunteers, and has been certified with the Royal Canadian Mountain Police (RCMP) as a Victim Service Advocate for people in her community
experiencing crisis. Volunteering to raise and train guide/service dog puppies is also a more recent passion.
